Nature's secret place or simply Wildwood
This poem for Wayne and Sue. I see splendour as I walk today,
among the treasures of life at play. To listen to Nature and be as one, to be amazed at the sights to come. I rest among Nature's gifts, and quietly set my mind adrift. I view the world through misted eyes, so beautiful. I just want to cry. Like the golden leaves upon the ground, and the whispering of Nature's sound. Rustling creatures going about their play, my worries now, Nature does allay. The morning dew, bending, a blade of grass, a butterfly wafting gently past. a plaintiff cry of a bower bird's call, swaying trees above, so tall. I am alone but not alone, as I sit here in this awesome throne, A throne made not of any man-made kind, a seat of calmness for my soul to find. I feel the centuries of past gone souls, I let my mind relax to play the role. Long gone life's of ancient times, my rested mind now acts and mimes. I see myself play the life of a dragonfly, as it wisps and darts flying low and high. Now I am lizard darting here and there, or a parrot's colours, which nought, can compare. No longer in my own time zone, mesmerized now, in my lofty throne. I hear the tinkling of a babbling stream like the sound of a Franz Liszt's ivory theme I slowly rise from this magic place, time now to retreat back to the human race. Oh I wish that I could remain, and be part of Nature's loved domain. Still, I guess there will be another day, when I can sit and watch Nature play. Please, let it be sooner than late, please Nature, let this be my fate. The Auld Yin. |
Simplicity
‘Simplicity’ or just ‘simple’ you might say.
I feel happy today so easy I guess ,it is to say. Happiness is just a state of mind. yet for some, very hard to find. What of tomorrow you ask? well, that is too hard a task. What of the next day, that too I am not quite au-fait. What is happiness you ask? well that is quite a rewarding task. Well ,one should give it a try you say, ok, let’s start with today. For me it is 5 AM to rise, with a sad face you might surmise. No ! not me, 5 is the best part of any day, that’s when sunny ,not dismal grey. I dream a dream of work to do, for all of this day my thoughts now accrue. I grow violets, now my face expects, Beautiful colours for me to inspect. With these happy thoughts my day begins, shower shave and ? Imaginations. Now, poetic thoughts enter my inner muse, start positive never think of don’ts and do’s. Simple things make for happy thoughts, they are the things that cannot be bought. A cup of tea and honey on toast, a pleasure that always gives the most. Working with beautiful blooms, Shining their light to fill the room. My thoughts slip down to a lower gear, of my sculptures and poems I hold so dear. Oh my, how happy can one person be, other thoughts I can now clearly see. My Bonny Wife and my daughter too, about all things they are and what they do. They make me so happy and VERY proud, I DO, I DO, I SHOUT THIS ALOUD. Happiness you see is there for you, all around, Relax, see the Wee Wee things which are abound. The day for me does not end, when I go to bed, my happy brain now requires to be fed. For when I lay my head down to sleep, all my days happiness ,my dreams will keep. It’s now 5 AM again and a new happiness to be gained, violets, blooms, poems, my loves all start again. You see happiness starts with a frame of mind, simplicity , your loves and all things kind. Heavenly Nature
I see the heavenly stars at night,
shining down with sparkling light. Upon my eyes their beauty rests, and on my psyche they invest. How can the universe hold such in store? Please, please explain, I do implore. How do I absorb their almighty scope? In my tiny brain, how do I cope? A canopy for Nature’s wondrous ways, to shield this heaven, upon this earth, each day. Blue skies by day and starry skies at night, protecting and shielding Nature’s might. From the beginning of time this world has come, going back who really knows, to adinfinitum. Can anyone really get their head to understand? Is it a question to ask, or demand? If yes, is the answer, then who do we ask? Who can hope to ‘Ken’ this enormous task? Why ask at all, you all might say, does it matter to know today? If your are happy now with what you know, why collect disruptive seeds and sow. Will you accept this amazing wondrous world today? If so, all wonders will be, Au-fait. Yes just gaze and enjoy these bountiful gifts, let them, by osmosis, give your heart a lift. Your ‘ken’ will know Nature is for all of us, to calm, and just wonder, and forget life’s fuss. The Auld Yin. |
